Meridian 2026, Lisbon
Meridian is the Stellar Development Foundation's annual conference. The 2026 edition, titled "Made to Move", runs on 28 and 29 October at the Convento do Beato, a 16th-century convent in Lisbon's Marvila district, according to Cryptoast's event listing.
The programme around it is a full week: the HackMeridian hackathon on 25–26 October, a networking evening on 27 October, then two conference days with keynotes, technical sessions and showcases. Announced themes are stablecoins, tokenization, cross-border payments and compliance. The 2025 edition drew more than 1,000 attendees from 65 countries. Listed early-bird prices were $299 general admission, $99 for government and public-policy attendees and $49 for developers; check availability on stellar.org, because the listing's registration deadline has passed.
Why it matters for DeFi: Meridian is where Stellar's protocol roadmap and its biggest issuer partnerships are usually announced. For context, see our Stellar ecosystem map and Stellar's 2026 protocol upgrades.
Devcon 8, Mumbai
Devcon is the Ethereum Foundation's flagship developer conference. Devcon 8 runs 3–6 November 2026 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai, India.
It is a research-and-engineering event rather than a deal-making one: the talks cover the protocol roadmap, zero-knowledge proofs, wallets and privacy. If you build on several chains, it is the place to see where Ethereum's account and wallet design is heading, which increasingly overlaps with Stellar's own passkey smart wallets.
Singapore FinTech Festival 2026
The Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) is the largest fintech event in Asia, co-organised with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The 2026 edition, its 11th, runs 18–20 November at the Singapore EXPO, per Luxembourg for Finance and Daily FT.
Recent editions have drawn more than 70,000 attendees from over 140 countries, according to IT Finanzmagazin. The 2026 theme is "Insights to Action". The agenda spans payment infrastructure, digital currencies, tokenization, AI, cybersecurity and sustainable finance, and the exhibition floor is where identity-verification, AML and fraud vendors meet banks and licensed crypto firms. Some national trade missions, such as the Netherlands Enterprise Agency's, run from 17 November.
For compliance teams, SFF is the year's best single snapshot of how regulators in Asia think about stablecoins, tokenized deposits and digital identity. We cover that side in RegTech trends in 2026 and the best KYC providers for crypto, where iDenfy is our first pick.
Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2026
Abu Dhabi Finance Week (ADFW), hosted by ADGM, holds its fifth edition on 7–10 December 2026 on Al Maryah Island, according to the UAE news agency WAM.
The organisers expect more than 35,000 participants and 800 speakers across 75 events and eight stages. Day three is dedicated to AI, fintech and digital assets. ADFW leans toward institutions: sovereign funds, asset managers and banks, which makes it a good read on tokenized funds and on where Gulf capital is going in crypto.
Early 2027
- Consensus Hong Kong 2027. A CoinGabbar listing gives main conference days of 2–3 February 2027 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with badge pickup on 1 February. It also notes that the organiser's own pages describe the dates differently, so treat this as provisional.
- TOKEN2049 Dubai. Moved from April 2026 to 21–22 April 2027 at Madinat Jumeirah, citing regional uncertainty, per Fintech News Middle East and Crypto Briefing. Tickets carried over automatically.
- Money20/20 Asia. 27–29 April 2027 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, per several event listings.
What to watch at each
- Meridian: stablecoin and payment partnerships on Stellar, the next protocol upgrades for Soroban smart contracts, and how anchors and wallets plan to handle compliance. Expect the DeFi side, lending on Blend and liquidity on Aquarius, to feature in the builder sessions.
- Devcon 8: account abstraction and passkey wallets, privacy, and scaling. Ideas that land there tend to reach other chains within a year.
- Singapore FinTech Festival: the Monetary Authority of Singapore's tokenization and payments programmes, such as Project Guardian, regulated stablecoins, and the identity, AML and fraud tools that licensed firms use. The exhibition is the easiest place to compare RegTech vendors in one day.
- Abu Dhabi Finance Week: tokenized funds, digital-asset licensing in ADGM, and institutional allocations to crypto.
Already happened in 2026
If you missed them: Money20/20 Europe ran 2–4 June in Amsterdam, TOKEN2049 Singapore ran 7–8 October at Marina Bay Sands, and Money20/20 USA ran 18–21 October in Las Vegas. Their recordings and recaps are useful background for the Singapore and Abu Dhabi agendas, which pick up many of the same threads: stablecoin licensing, tokenized cash and agent payments.
Which one to attend
- You build on Stellar: Meridian. Arrive for HackMeridian if you ship code.
- You sell to banks or regulated fintechs in Asia: the Singapore FinTech Festival.
- You run compliance at a crypto firm: SFF for regulators and RegTech vendors, then ADFW for the Gulf.
- You raise money for a crypto startup: TOKEN2049 or Consensus.
- You work on Ethereum infrastructure: Devcon 8.
Practical notes
- Side events are often the point. SFF, Meridian and TOKEN2049 each spawn dozens of side events; many require separate registration.
- Book compliance meetings early. At SFF, identity-verification, AML and fraud vendors fill their calendars weeks ahead.
- Watch for date changes. TOKEN2049 Dubai moved by a year. Check the official page the week before you fly.
- Mind the overlaps. Meridian ends five days before Devcon 8 begins, and the Singapore festival is three weeks before Abu Dhabi. Teams covering Asia and the Gulf can do both without clashes, but not Lisbon and Mumbai on the same trip without a tight turnaround.
We will update this page as organisers confirm 2027 dates. For what the Stellar side of the calendar means for yields and liquidity, see our Stellar DeFi TVL report.
